Kolkata, March 21: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has extended her warm wishes to the people of the state and the nation on the auspicious occasion of Eid. She emphasized the importance of social unity, brotherhood, and the protection of constitutional rights in her message. CM Banerjee greeted everyone with “Eid Mubarak” and expressed her hopes for peace, compassion, and harmony in people’s lives.
The Chief Minister participated in the Eid celebrations held at Red Road in Kolkata, where she conveyed her wishes to the attendees. She remarked that joining a large gathering of people on this occasion was particularly special for her.
In a post on the social media platform X, CM Banerjee wrote, “Eid Mubarak to everyone. On this auspicious occasion, I extend my heartfelt wishes to all who attended the celebrations at Red Road. I pray that peace, compassion, and goodwill prevail in every home. Today, I also visited Colin Lane, Ripon Street, and Bhowanipore, where I interacted with residents and was deeply moved by their affection, love, and blessings.”
During her address, the Chief Minister also expressed concern regarding issues related to the inclusion of names in the voter list. She stated, “I am very worried about the challenges many citizens face in securing their rightful place in the voter list. I have approached appropriate legal forums, including the honorable courts, in the hope that the constitutional rights of every individual will be protected. I want to assure the people of Bengal that I stand with each one of you, regardless of your religion, caste, or community, as a member of your family.”
CM Banerjee further stated that in times when divisive forces attempt to disrupt our social fabric, we must remain fully committed to unity and mutual respect. Bengal has always been a beacon of inclusivity, where every faith is respected, and every voice matters. Let us continue to uphold the values of peace, brotherhood, and dignity that define our identity.
