Greater Noida, September 26 (Daily Kiran) : The fourth edition of the UP International Trade Show, held in Greater Noida, showcased the industrial potential of Uttar Pradesh alongside indigenous technology and achievements in the defense sector. Central ministers Jitin Prasada, MSME Minister Bhupendra Chaudhary, and MSME State Minister Hansraj Vishwakarma toured various stalls at the event on Saturday.
During their visit, the ministers interacted with artisans and entrepreneurs linked to One District One Product (ODOP), One District One Cluster (ODOC), agro-equipment, and handicrafts, gaining insights into their offerings. They admired products from artisans hailing from various districts, including Pilibhit, Saharanpur, Agra, and Kanpur.
Central Minister Jitin Prasada noted that the trade show provides ODOC products with an international platform and new recognition. The ministers also sampled some of these products. Among the highlights were indigenous drones from the defense sector, which attracted both foreign guests and local visitors.
One drone, which gained attention during Operation Sindoor for its role against military targets in Pakistan, was on display. Equipped with high-tech features, these drones are specifically designed for defense and security purposes.
One showcased drone is capable of carrying approximately 60 kilograms of explosives. Additionally, swarm drones, which can coordinate multiple units to strike a target, sparked significant interest among attendees.
According to the company, such drones are primarily supplied to the army, navy, air force, and paramilitary forces. The trade show has seen a substantial turnout of visitors eager to learn more about these technologies.
The UP Defense Corridor stall also highlighted indigenous defense technologies, featuring the ‘Kaal’ drone, developed in the Jhansi Defense Corridor. After successful testing, it was showcased at the trade show.
Information available at the exhibition indicated that ‘Kaal’ has a striking range of about 1,000 kilometers. Exhibitors believe this product could become a hallmark of Uttar Pradesh’s defense production capabilities. Additionally, a long-range one-way attack drone was displayed, capable of carrying around 50 kilograms. Notably, this drone self-destructs after targeting, minimizing the risk of its technology falling into foreign hands.
The trade show also featured the BrahMos missile and various new defense technologies, demonstrating Uttar Pradesh’s growing investment and production in the defense sector.
Exhibitors expressed their satisfaction with participating in the UP Trade Show, calling it a vital platform for connecting industries and products with international markets. They emphasized that such events provide an opportunity for Uttar Pradesh’s products to gain global recognition. The trade show prominently featured products related to MSMEs, ODOP, ODOC, handicrafts, agricultural equipment, defense, and modern technologies.
According to exhibitors, this event allows the state’s industrial and manufacturing capabilities to be presented to international buyers. The themes of ‘Make in India’ and ‘Make in UP’ were prominently displayed throughout the trade show.
From traditional handicrafts to modern defense technologies, the event showcased a diverse range of products. The Uttar Pradesh government has developed six nodes in the Defense Corridor to promote defense production, with an investment target of approximately ₹50,000 crores. The defense products exhibited at the trade show reflect the indigenous manufacturing capabilities developing within the state.
