Patna, August 21: The police have achieved significant success in their ongoing campaign against criminals. In two separate operations in the capital, Patna, four suspects have been apprehended. Three individuals were arrested in the Patna East area while planning to target doctors and businessmen, and another suspect was caught by the Agamkuan police on theft charges.
Patna East’s Superintendent of Police, Shailja, provided details about the cases. She stated that the Patna police are working around the clock to apprehend criminals and anti-social elements. In the first operation, the district police received information about a group of criminals gathering near the Doctors Colony in the Bypass police station area, armed and allegedly planning a major crime.
Following this intelligence, a joint team from the District Intelligence Unit (DIU) and the Bypass police conducted a raid and arrested Rohit Kumar, Rustam alias Raftar, and Rohit Kumar alias Mahi. The police seized two country-made pistols, one country-made shotgun, 24 live cartridges, two magazines, Indian-made foreign liquor (IMFL), two motorcycles, and mobile phones from their possession.
During interrogation, the suspects reportedly revealed their plan to rob well-known doctors and businessmen in the city. The police have registered a case under the Arms Act and the relevant sections of the Prohibition of Alcohol Act at the Bypass police station and are investigating further.
In a separate case, the Agamkuan police arrested Deepak Sahani, who has allegedly been involved in several home burglaries. The police recovered 165 grams of gold, approximately 3.4 kilograms of silver jewelry, 80,000 rupees in cash, burglary tools, and a motorcycle from him. During questioning, Sahani reportedly confessed to stealing over 1.5 million rupees worth of items. A case has been registered against the accused.
