Bhopal, February 11: Bhopal police conducted a significant operation, raiding an Iranian den located in Aman Colony, Nishatpura. This raid resulted in the arrest of several individuals facing various criminal charges.

Over 400 police officers executed the raid around 2 AM on Tuesday, maintaining strict confidentiality to prevent any suspects from being alerted.

In the stillness of the night, police cordoned off the area, causing a stir among local residents. During the operation, officers searched every house, interrogated suspects, and detained more than 40 individuals, including women.

According to police reports, some of those arrested are accused in serious criminal cases across Madhya Pradesh and other states.

Sources indicate that a wanted criminal, Shahadat, was also apprehended during the operation. He had a bounty of ₹138,000 on his head and had been evading capture for an extended period.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Bhopal police confirmed, “A midnight raid was conducted at the Iranian den in Aman Colony, leading to the arrest of several suspects who are currently being interrogated. The operation was led by DCP Mayur Khandelwal, supported by 2 ADCs, 9 ACPs, and 20 TIs.”

This extensive operation was carried out under the supervision of Bhopal Police Commissioner Sanjay Kumar.

The raid comes a month after Bhopal police arrested Abid Ali, also known as Raju or ‘Rahman Dacoit,’ the alleged mastermind of a multi-state crime syndicate, from the notorious Iranian den in Bhopal.

Police reports indicate that Raju was managing a network of gangs active in at least 14 states, involved in crimes such as robbery, fraud, extortion, identity theft, arson, and attempted murder.

Additionally, Raju is facing charges under the stringent Maharashtra Control of Organised Crime Act (MCOCA). He often exploited people’s religious beliefs by posing as a fake CBI officer, a police officer in safari suits, or even a holy man.
