Ghaziabad, February 23: A significant fire broke out at a ready-made garment factory in the Tronica City industrial area on Monday, causing widespread panic. The incident occurred around 11:20 AM at plot number I-29 in Sector A-1.
Upon receiving the alert, three fire tenders from the Tronica City (Loni) fire station were dispatched immediately to the scene. Firefighters arrived to find flames engulfing the first floor of the three-story building housing the Manmanark Apparel factory, accompanied by heavy smoke that created a tense atmosphere in the vicinity.
Given the severity of the situation, fire service units quickly laid down hose lines and began dousing the flames with powerful jets of water from motor fire engines. The chief fire officer was informed, and an additional fire tender was sent from the Sahibabad fire station as a precaution.
Despite the smoke and extreme heat, the Tronica City team bravely entered the first floor and managed to control the fire rapidly by spraying water from both directions. By approximately 11:50 AM, the fire was fully extinguished, allowing the fire tender from Sahibabad to be recalled midway. The likely cause of the fire is suspected to be an electrical short circuit. Fortunately, there were no reports of injuries or casualties.
However, investigations revealed that the factory lacked adequate fire safety measures, which could have led to a more significant disaster in the future. After extinguishing the flames, firefighters ensured that smoldering remnants in the fabric rolls were thoroughly doused by overturning them and applying water. By around 12:30 PM, firefighting and rescue operations concluded, and the fire service units returned after providing necessary guidance. Local police were also present at the scene to assist with relief and rescue efforts.
