Major Crackdown by Delhi Police Uncovers Illegal Arms Factory

New Delhi, April 25: In a significant operation against illegal arms, the Delhi Police achieved a major breakthrough. The police from the Wazirabad station exposed an organized gang and dismantled an illegal arms manufacturing factory. Three suspects were arrested, while the main mastermind remains at large.

DCP Raja Banthia from North District reported that on the evening of April 21, police received a tip-off about an individual carrying illegal weapons in the Wazirabad area. Acting swiftly, the police team apprehended 49-year-old Mohammad Ayub, a resident of Moradabad. Upon searching him, officers recovered two country-made pistols and ten live cartridges.

During interrogation, Ayub revealed that he had purchased these weapons from a person named Sonu in Moradabad. Following this lead, the police formed a special team and traced Sonu’s network through technical surveillance.

On April 22, the police team raided a location in Moradabad, uncovering the illegal arms manufacturing factory. Two additional suspects, 60-year-old Idrish and 40-year-old Shadab, were arrested at the scene. A large quantity of weapons, unfinished parts, and tools used in the manufacturing process were seized.

The investigation revealed that this factory had been operational for the past year, producing country-made pistols on a large scale. Idrish was skilled in this work, while Shadab assisted him. Both were paid per weapon produced.

From the site, police recovered three finished pistols, twelve live cartridges, fourteen long barrels, unfinished bodies, a furnace, tools, and other materials capable of producing approximately 50 to 60 country-made pistols.

The police are now actively searching for the main accused, Sonu, and identifying other individuals connected to this network. Officials believe this gang was supplying illegal arms on a large scale. The Delhi Police’s action is regarded as a significant success in the fight against illegal weapons.
