Kathua, February 25: In a significant move against terrorism and cross-border anti-national activities, the Jammu and Kashmir Police’s Kathua unit has seized the property of a terrorist handler based in Pakistan. This operation was conducted under the supervision of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mohit Sharma.
According to police reports, this action relates to FIR number 142/2024 registered at the Bilawar police station. The case falls under various sections of the Indian Penal Code, including Section 61(1)/147, the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) Sections 13/16/18/23/38/39, and the EIMCO Act Sections 2/3. The seizure was carried out in compliance with the directives of the Honorable Third Additional Sessions Court in Jammu. The seized property consists of 7.5 marlas of land, recorded under Khewat number 155/152 and Khasra number 995/726, located in the Lohai Malhar Tehsil of Kathua district.
Police have identified the property as belonging to Swar Din, also known as Swaru, son of Ami Din. The accused is currently operating terrorist activities from Pakistan after fleeing India. He has been actively involved in activities against the country’s security and sovereignty. Due to his continuous evasion of legal proceedings, the court declared him a fugitive. Kathua Police have made persistent efforts to apprehend him, but due to his evasion, the court ordered the seizure of his immovable property.
This operation was executed by Inspector Zahid Mushtaq, SHO of PS Bilawar, under the guidance of SP Ops Upper Kathua, Omeer Iqbal, and SDPO Bilawar, Neeraj Padyar (JKPS). During this process, all legal procedures, verifications, and documentation were completed in coordination with the revenue department.
Police officials stated that this action is part of a broader strategy to dismantle the financial and logistical structures of terrorist networks, aiming to deprive terrorist-linked elements of their resources.
The Kathua district police have made it clear that strict legal action will continue against Pakistan-based terrorist handlers and all elements posing a threat to national security. The police assured the public that such measures will be taken to maintain peace, public safety, and the sovereignty of the nation.
