
New Delhi, February 25: The Anti-Auto Theft Squad (AATS) in Dwarka has intensified its efforts against vehicle theft. Within a week, the squad has arrested three individuals involved in vehicle theft and recovered six stolen two-wheelers.
The AATS conducted two separate operations on February 9 and February 16, 2026, leading to the apprehension of the suspects. This crackdown has unveiled six vehicle theft cases in Dwarka and surrounding areas, allowing victims to reclaim their motorcycles and scooters.
Under the guidance of Dwarka’s DCP Ankit, the AATS has been tasked with curbing crimes such as vehicle theft, snatching, and robberies in local neighborhoods. The team employs regular intelligence gathering, technical surveillance, and CCTV analysis to identify and apprehend active criminals.
On February 9, around 2:30 PM, based on CCTV analysis and a tip-off received by Head Constable Manish, a vehicle thief was arrested in the Chhawla police area. The suspect, identified as Aditya Kumar (30), a resident of Najafgarh, was found in possession of a stolen motorcycle from Chhawla and a TVS Ntorq scooter stolen from the Bindapur area.
Similarly, on February 16, Head Constable Manish Kumar received specific intelligence regarding the movement of two vehicle thieves in the police station area. Acting swiftly, the team set a trap and arrested both suspects in Chhawla. They were identified as Vaseer Ahmed (24) and Shiva (24), also residents of Najafgarh. Following their lead, the police recovered a Hero Splendor motorcycle stolen from Chhawla, a TVS Apache from Najafgarh, and additional Hero Splendor bikes from the Ranohola and Bhajanpura areas.
