Maharashtra CM Fadnavis Criticizes Rahul Gandhi Over Allegations of Vote Theft
Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis rebukes Rahul Gandhi, claiming no votes were stolen and accusing him of undermining constitutional institutions.

Nagpur, September 27 (Daily Kiran) : Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis recently directed sharp criticism at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi during a session in the Lok Sabha. Fadnavis accused Gandhi of attempting to tarnish the image of constitutional institutions while parading the Constitution itself.
Fadnavis asserted, “Rahul Gandhi aims to discredit all constitutional bodies and sow distrust among the public. His goal is to create a scenario where people lose faith in these institutions, leading to chaos in the country. When citizens believe that the current constitutional framework cannot provide justice, it will push these institutions towards a leftist ideology. This is a calculated strategy by Rahul Gandhi.”
The Chief Minister also challenged Gandhi regarding allegations of vote theft linked to the SIR (Systematic Identification of Residual Voters). He questioned how the Trinamool Congress (TMC) managed to win in areas where significant votes were supposedly eliminated through SIR.
“I want to pose a question,” Fadnavis said. “In West Bengal, there are at least 15 regions where votes were reportedly reduced due to SIR, yet the TMC emerged victorious. If anti-BJP votes were removed via SIR, how did the TMC win in those areas?”
Fadnavis emphasized that the SIR process allows every political party to appoint booth-level agents who can raise objections. He explained that any eligible voter’s name can be contested if it is missing from the list, and similarly, objections can be made against names that should not be included.
He added, “If there is an error in the process, and a voter’s name is omitted, they can later file an objection. However, many do not engage in this process, even when they know it is ongoing.”
In a pointed remark directed at Gandhi, Fadnavis stated, “You don’t want to participate in the process; you only want to create a ruckus. You are aware that the public does not accept you, and lacking real issues, you fabricate such controversies.”
Concluding his remarks, Fadnavis provocatively said, “Let me be clear: no votes were stolen; rather, Rahul Gandhi has lost his mind. I urge the Prime Minister to consider forming a committee to help find his lost mind, so he can speak truthfully and in the interest of the country.”
