Madhya Pradesh Police Solve Singrauli Murder Case, Three Arrested Including Victims Wife

Bhopal, June 26: Madhya Pradesh police arrested three individuals on Thursday in connection with the murder of a man whose body was found under suspicious circumstances near a national highway in Singrauli district. The victim, identified as 38-year-old Raghu Nath, also known as Sarju Khevar, was discovered on June 21. Following the discovery, the Chitrangi police registered a murder case and initiated an investigation.

After examining evidence from the crime scene and questioning several suspects, authorities apprehended the victim’s wife, Ramkali (30), her alleged lover, Neeraj Kumar Shah (23), and his accomplice, Suraj Singh Gond (22).

According to police, the murder was the result of a conspiracy orchestrated by Ramkali and Neeraj, who were involved in a relationship and wanted to eliminate Raghu Nath from their lives.

After solving the case, SDOP Rahul Sanyam informed local journalists that the investigation revealed Ramkali began her relationship with Neeraj while her husband was working in Gujarat.

Sanyam stated that the accused viewed Raghu Nath as an obstacle to their relationship. They conspired to murder him upon learning of his return to the village.

Raghu Nath had returned from Gujarat on June 19 and was set to attend a wedding at his in-laws’ home. Upon receiving news of his arrival, the accused allegedly executed their plan.

In a premeditated act, Neeraj and Suraj reportedly lured Raghu Nath to the roadside under the pretense of drinking alcohol. Once there, they allegedly attacked him with stones, inflicting severe head injuries that led to his death.

Sanyam explained that the victim was lured to a secluded area near the highway, where he was struck on the head and subsequently, in an attempt to conceal the crime, his body was hidden behind a large stone by the roadside.

Police reported that materials allegedly used in the crime were recovered based on information obtained during the interrogation of the suspects.

Following their arrests, the three accused were presented in a local court. The police confirmed that further investigations are ongoing.
