Bhopal, February 25: During his visit to Madhya Pradesh, senior Congress leader and Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, made several allegations against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In response, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav stated that Gandhi’s remarks were trivial and suggested he should seek forgiveness from Baba Mahakal.
Speaking to the media in the assembly complex, Yadav emphasized that under Modi’s leadership, the government is continuously working for the benefit of farmers. He noted that the Madhya Pradesh government is also making decisions and implementing schemes in favor of farmers.
Yadav accused Rahul Gandhi of politicizing farmers’ issues. He pointed out that a single family had ruled the country for an extended period, and now Gandhi is trying to leverage farmers for political gain, which he believes will not succeed. He stated, “For Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the interests of farmers are paramount. Many trivial comments have been made by Rahul Gandhi, which I condemn.”
The Chief Minister expressed his hope that Baba Mahakal would grant Gandhi wisdom and reiterated that Gandhi should seek forgiveness from the deity.
Highlighting the efforts of both the central and state governments for farmers, Yadav mentioned that Modi has created a favorable environment by engaging directly with farmers in their fields. He noted that Madhya Pradesh was the first state to receive the ‘Nadi Jodo’ initiative from Modi. The state will contribute 10% of the funds, while the central government will provide the remaining 90%, benefiting farmers significantly.
Yadav asserted that Madhya Pradesh is progressing equally across all sectors. Several initiatives have been taken for agriculture, horticulture, and irrigation to support cotton-producing farmers.
Discussing the establishment of Mitra Park in Dhar district, he stated, “This will connect six lakh farmers and facilitate the production of cotton, thread, fabric, and ready-made garments. Such developments could only occur during Prime Minister Modi’s tenure. Industries were shut down during Congress’s rule.”
Yadav reminded Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge that the Congress era was marked by dark chapters in history, where farmers faced oppression.
