Bhopal, May 1: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has announced a swift advancement of the Indore-Pithampur Economic Corridor project. As part of this initiative, the share of developed land allocated to farmers has been increased to 60 percent.
The ground-breaking ceremony for the first phase of the project will take place on May 3 in Sector A of Nainod village, Indore.
According to a press release issued on Friday, the estimated cost for the first phase is ₹326.51 crore. This marks the beginning of essential infrastructure development works.
The increase in the share of developed land from 50 to 60 percent has bolstered farmers’ confidence, encouraging their voluntary participation in the project.
The Indore-Pithampur Economic Corridor is a significant initiative aimed at directing industrial development in the region.
Under this plan, development activities will be carried out on both sides of a 75-meter wide and 20-kilometer long road, covering an area of 300 meters on each side.
The project spans 1,300 hectares, with a total estimated cost of ₹2,360 crore.
Modern infrastructure facilities will be developed for the industrial, commercial, and service sectors, attracting substantial investments and creating new job opportunities.
One of the main challenges faced by the project was acquiring land with the consent of farmers, given the high demand for land near Indore city.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has prioritized farmers’ interests, striving to balance development and public welfare. This decision has increased farmers’ participation, facilitating the project’s advancement.
Under the scheme, farmers will receive developed land in exchange for their original land, equipped with basic amenities such as roads, electricity, and water.
With the allocation of 60 percent developed land, farmers are expected to gain more economic benefits in the future. They can utilize this land for housing, business, or other economic activities, creating a sustainable income source for themselves and their families.
This project aims to enhance connectivity, establish modern infrastructure, and foster an environment conducive to industrial development in the region.
Additionally, local youth will gain new employment opportunities, propelling the social and economic development of the area.
