New Delhi, May 3: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav will perform the groundbreaking ceremony for the first phase of the Indore-Pithampur Economic Corridor project in Nainod village, Indore, on Sunday. This initiative aims to transform the industrial landscape of the region.
According to a press release, development works will be planned within a 300-meter radius on either side of a 75-meter wide and 20-kilometer long road. The project spans 1,300 hectares and has an estimated cost of ₹2,360 crores.
The corridor is expected to enhance connectivity, promote modern infrastructure, and create a favorable environment for industrial growth. Additionally, it will generate new employment opportunities for local youth, accelerating the socio-economic development of the area.
The estimated cost for the first phase is ₹326.51 crores, marking the beginning of infrastructure development activities. The allocation has been increased from 50% to 60%, boosting farmers’ confidence and encouraging their voluntary participation in the project.
With the allocation raised to 60%, farmers are expected to gain more economic benefits in the future. They can utilize the land for residential, commercial, or other economic activities, creating sustainable income sources for themselves and their families.
One of the major challenges faced by the project was acquiring land with the consent of farmers, given the high demand for land near Indore city. By prioritizing farmers’ interests, Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has balanced development goals with community welfare. This decision has increased farmers’ participation, facilitating a smoother and faster progression of the corridor’s construction.
