The Chief Minister also met Riaz Hussain, a survivor who was trapped inside the cruise for several hours before being rescued. Officials reported that the rescue operation continued throughout the night.

Mohan Yadav announced the formation of a high-level committee to investigate the causes of the accident and to ensure compliance with safety regulations. He emphasized that strict action would be taken against anyone found responsible.

To prevent such incidents in the future, the government will implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for boating and adventure tourism activities to enhance safety measures.

Additionally, the Chief Minister declared a compensation of 400,000 rupees for the families of the deceased, while Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced an extra 200,000 rupees in aid.

Opposition leader Umang Singhar, who visited the site on Friday, accused the government of serious negligence regarding safety protocols and demanded accountability. The government should not limit itself to ordering an investigation but must take strict action against those responsible.”
