
New Delhi, May 15: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav held several meetings with central ministers on Thursday. The discussions focused on preparations for the Singhast 2028 festival, the proposed Ujjain airport, law and order, agriculture, irrigation, urban development, and the Uniform Civil Code (UCC).
Yadav emphasized the significance of these meetings for the state’s future roadmap, highlighting their importance in light of Madhya Pradesh’s development agenda and the upcoming Singhast 2028 preparations.
During his meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Yadav provided updates on anti-Naxal operations and development initiatives in the Dindori and Balaghat districts. He specifically highlighted the efforts of security forces and administration in promoting development and peace in these regions.
Both leaders also discussed the implementation of new criminal laws, strengthening law and order, and adopting technology-based policing. Yadav extended an invitation to Shah to visit Balaghat, noting that the central minister appreciated the state government’s efforts.
In discussions with Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu, Yadav addressed the proposed Ujjain airport project and the need to enhance air connectivity to promote religious tourism linked to Mahakal Lok and Singhast. He stressed the urgency of expanding air links given the rapid growth of religious tourism in Ujjain and the Mahakal Lok area.
The discussions also covered the Ujjain-Indore Metropolitan Planning Authority, regional infrastructure, tourism development, and new flight routes. Yadav stated that the state government is actively working to position Madhya Pradesh as a leading religious and tourism hub in the country.
Yadav also met with Union Minister Manohar Lal to review preparations for Singhast 2028. He mentioned that the state government has initiated work on infrastructure development, traffic management, urban expansion, and civic amenities for this grand religious event. The aim is to elevate the upcoming Singhast Mahakumbh in Ujjain to a world-class level.
The discussions included smart city projects, cleanliness initiatives under the Swachh Bharat Mission, and urban planning. Yadav highlighted the achievements of Madhya Pradesh under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.
In a meeting with Union Minister of Jal Shakti C.R. Patil, Yadav called for an increase in wheat procurement targets, citing record production in the state. He noted that Madhya Pradesh has already procured over 7.5 million metric tons of wheat this year.
