New Delhi, March 8 : Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla will be on a one-day visit to Madhya Pradesh on Wednesday. During the visit, he will present the Parliamentary Outstanding Awards in the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly. Parliamentary Excellence Awards were given for the last time in the year 2008 by the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly. Since then, the event was postponed. Since becoming the Speaker of the Lok Sabha in the year 2019, Om Birla has been continuously calling for the introduction of such awards in the legislatures across the country, Lok Sabha Secretariat, in a statement, said. Birla will honor the best Minister, best MLA, best print media journalist, best electronic media journalist, best officer and best employees of MP Assembly Secretariat in the programme to be organized on March 9.
