Locket Chatterjee Criticizes Abhishek Banerjee Amid CID Notice Controversy

Kolkata, June 2: BJP leader and former MP Locket Chatterjee has launched a fierce attack on the TMC and its leaders. She accused Abhishek Banerjee of receiving a notice from the CID, criticized TMC’s protests, and highlighted internal party issues. Chatterjee asserted that everyone must answer to the law.

In an interview, Locket Chatterjee stated that Abhishek Banerjee will have to visit the CID office. “He has done wrong, which is why the notice was sent,” she said. She emphasized that until now, the CID was under their control, allowing them to operate at will. Banerjee never anticipated a change in government. Now, the CID is sending him notices, and he must comply.

Chatterjee remarked that sooner or later, Banerjee will have to appear before the CID. “He has exploited the public and bulldozed their sentiments. Now, he will face the consequences.”

Regarding the TMC protests, she commented on the rapid changes over the past month. “Mamata Banerjee never thought she would face such swift repercussions for her actions. If she had worked for the people, there would be no need for protests. The party leaders have plundered, and now she is the one protesting.”

She predicted that the protests would not last, stating that the party itself would not survive, and the entire cadre would be dismantled. Senior TMC leaders lack support from their workers, with only a few seen around them. “The party has crumbled after losing the elections.”

On the signature controversy, Chatterjee pointed out that it was not just about the signatures being fake; the entire government has been operating on false pretenses. “Everything is now coming to light. They have always engaged in mutual blame games.”

Regarding Suvendu Adhikari’s public meeting, she noted that no one expected citizens could meet the Chief Minister to voice their concerns. “The public need not worry. Our government is for the people.”

Lastly, she commented on Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s response to declaring the cow as the national animal, stating, “The cow is our mother. We worship the cow. It is an integral part of our culture, and this sentiment should always remain in people’s minds.”
