Jammu, March 18: Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha participated in the ‘Shri Raghunath Ji Ki Jammu Aarti’ held at Raghunath Temple on Wednesday. He urged the local communities in towns and villages along the rivers in the Jammu region to organize daily or weekly evening Aarti sessions with their support.
The Lieutenant Governor stated that the flames lit during the Aarti would awaken society to our rich and profound culture, connecting the younger generation with the eternal verses of sacred texts.
He described this unique Aarti, organized by the ‘Shri Raghunath Ji Ki Jammu Aarti Sanstha,’ as a symbol of India’s ‘Nari Shakti’ and ‘Ardhanarishvara.’ He remarked, “This Jammu Aarti, performed by devoted men and women, showers divine blessings upon every being. I firmly believe that evening Aarti is a discipline of the soul. It is a conscious effort for society to look towards the fundamental source of our existence and express gratitude.”
He further explained that every flame rising during the Aarti is a tribute of complete dedication, every prayer is a dialogue with the infinite, and every moment is a step towards an inner journey. In our fast-paced world, we need a mindful moment to remind us of the invaluable treasures within. The Jammu Aarti provides every segment of society the opportunity to rediscover this inner wealth.
The Lieutenant Governor referred to Jammu as the ‘City of Temples’ and mentioned ongoing efforts to establish it as a global center of spirituality and a key destination on the spiritual tourism map. The Aarti at the sacred premises of Raghunath Temple will allow devotees of Mata Vaishno Devi and Baba Amarnath to experience the spiritual aura of this holy land firsthand, which will also invigorate the local economy.
He added that such gatherings serve as a means of true self-experience. They offer the younger generation a chance to understand and internalize the values of their spiritual heritage. “Young people should realize that they have inherited not wealth or status, but a priceless legacy of inner treasures.”
Dr. Ritu Singh, the chairperson of ‘Shri Raghunath Ji Ki Jammu Aarti Sanstha,’ along with other officials, dignitaries, and a large number of devotees, were present at the event.
