In a post on X, Chief Minister Adhikari stated, “I am deeply saddened by the passing of Jennifer Paes. She was the mother of tennis legend Leander Paes. As a former captain of the Indian basketball team and an Olympian, her invaluable contributions to Indian sports will always be remembered. My heartfelt condolences to Leander Paes and his entire family during this difficult time. I pray that God grants the grieving family the strength to bear this irreparable loss. May her soul rest in peace.”
