
New Delhi, February 14: On the birth anniversary of former External Affairs Minister and Padma Vibhushan awardee Sushma Swaraj, several prominent leaders, including Union Home Minister Amit Shah, paid their respects. Amit Shah remarked that her contributions will continue to inspire the nation for decades to come.
In a post on the social media platform X, Amit Shah stated, “Sushma Swaraj, who dedicated her life to public welfare from organization to government, was known for her fearlessness on national issues. Her work in areas such as culture, language, foreign policy, and women’s empowerment will inspire citizens for generations. I pay my respects to Sushma on her birth anniversary.”
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari also took to X to express his homage, writing, “A humble tribute to former Union Minister and Padma Vibhushan awardee Sushma Swaraj on her birth anniversary.”
Kiren Rijiju, another Union Minister, remembered Sushma Swaraj as a symbol of eloquence, sensitivity, and service. He wrote, “On the birth anniversary of the esteemed Sushma Swaraj, a personification of eloquent speech and compassion, I offer my heartfelt tributes. Her memory and ideals will continue to guide us.”
Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla honored Sushma Swaraj as an exceptional speaker and skilled politician. He noted, “In public life, she presented a remarkable balance of determination and human sensitivity. As Foreign Minister, she elevated India’s reputation on the global stage and demonstrated warmth and readiness towards Indians in times of crisis. Her unwavering dedication to national interest and commitment to public service continues to serve as a guiding ideal in the field of public service.”
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also paid tribute on X, stating, “On the birth anniversary of Padma Vibhushan Sushma Swaraj, who left an indelible mark on the horizon of Indian politics with her wisdom, grace, and eloquence, I offer my humble respects. Her life was a confluence of purity, strength, and sensitivity in Indian politics, elevating power to the highest standards of service.”
