
Guwahati, May 12: Following a significant victory in the Assam Assembly elections, Himanta Biswa Sarma will take his oath as the Chief Minister for the second time on Tuesday. The ceremony, taking place in Guwahati, will see the presence of Prime Minister Narendra Modi along with Chief Ministers, Deputy Chief Ministers, and Union Ministers from various BJP-ruled states.
Leaders traveling to attend the oath-taking ceremony include Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, and Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai. All leaders are en route to the event at Vivanta Hotel.
Additionally, Meghalaya’s Deputy Chief Minister Preston Tinsong and other leaders are also arriving for the ceremony. Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha visited the revered Kamakhya Temple for blessings prior to the oath-taking.
There is a palpable atmosphere of excitement in Guwahati surrounding this event. With numerous prominent BJP leaders in attendance, stringent security measures have been implemented. Special attention has been given to security and arrangements from the hotel to the event venue. Given the expected crowd of supporters and the presence of key political figures, this oath ceremony is deemed highly significant.
Before the ceremony, Union Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary, and Maharashtra’s Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar visited the world-famous Kamakhya Temple for blessings.
In a post on her social media account, CM Rekha Gupta expressed, “I prayed at the sacred abode of Maa Kamakhya with my family, wishing for the happiness, prosperity, and good health of all citizens. Northeast India symbolizes faith, culture, spiritual consciousness, and remarkable development. This sacred land of Maa Kamakhya has inspired the nation for centuries through its divine stream of power, practice, and eternal traditions. I pray that Maa Kamakhya’s blessings remain with all citizens, guiding India on a path of continuous progress, prosperity, and pride.”
