Mumbai, March 4: The ongoing tensions in several Middle Eastern countries are now visibly impacting the lives of ordinary citizens. Amid this atmosphere, Bollywood actress Lara Dutta has shared her experiences on social media, revealing that she is currently stranded in Dubai with her daughter.
In a video posted on Instagram, Dutta explained that her husband, Mahesh Bhupathi, is away for work and not with them.
She recounted, “When this all started, I was in the middle of a shoot. Suddenly, I heard loud explosions. Missiles were being intercepted in the sky, and fighter jets were flying continuously. It was all very sudden and frightening.”
Dutta mentioned that there has been significant tension in Dubai over the past few days. “I am in a safe area, but the loud explosions are causing the windows to shake. The blasts are so intense that even the doors tremble. Despite this, I have never felt unsafe. There is fear and discomfort, but I trust in the safety measures in place.”
She praised the UAE government for its efforts, stating that every resident is being taken care of, regardless of their nationality. “Everyone is receiving equal security and respect. The government is doing everything possible to ensure citizens remain safe. They are making every effort to maintain normalcy.”
Dutta provided an example of normalcy, noting that their gardener continues to come daily to tend to the lawn and water the plants. Delivery personnel are also going about their work, indicating that daily life has not come to a complete halt despite the tensions. People are cautious but are continuing with their routines.
She added that she is looking for flights to return to India, but currently, there are limited options available. However, she remains optimistic that they will find a way back.
In the concluding part of her video, Dutta expressed, “No ordinary citizen deserves to live in fear. I hope that in the end, wisdom and better decisions prevail.” She believes that regardless of how difficult the circumstances may be, peace and humanity should always come first.
