Chandigarh, March 21 : AAP leader Kultar Singh Sandhwan was on Monday unanimously elected the Speaker of 16th Punjab Assembly. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann proposed the name of Sandhwan, which was seconded by Harpal Cheema. He was then unanimously elected the Speaker. Soon after, Mann led Sandhwan to the Speaker’s chair amid thumping of desks by all MLAs. Earlier, the proceedings of the House began with two BJP legislators — Jangi Lal and Ashwani Sharma — being administered the oath of office. DB MR
