Mumbai, May 11: Bollywood actress Kubra Sait, known for her roles in popular web series and films like ‘Sacred Games’, ‘Ready’, and ‘Gully Boy’, recently discussed her character in the film ‘Ready’. She revealed that the idea to make her role special came from superstar Salman Khan.
On Monday, Kubra shared a video on her Instagram, where she recounted her experience landing her first film role in ‘Ready’, directed by Anees Bazmee and featuring Salman Khan in the lead.
Kubra explained that she auditioned for the role wearing a little black dress and was eagerly waiting for Anees Bazmee’s approval. Initially, her character had no dialogues, and she was cast as a maid. However, Salman Khan suggested that her character should speak broken English, which added a unique flair to her role.
She stated, “That was the audition where I wore the little black dress and waited for Anees Bazmee’s ‘yes’ in his office. I was thrilled to get the role of a maid in ‘Ready’. I felt a lot of confidence while doing this film as it was a completely new experience for me.”
Kubra added, “I had never acted in a film before. Initially, there were no dialogues for me. Then Salman Khan said, ‘Why not make her a maid who speaks broken language, especially broken English?’ Anees sir loved the idea, and that’s when I got dialogues in the film.”
She further mentioned, “Everyone told me I was being foolish and hasty by taking on a role like in ‘Ready’. If I hadn’t done ‘Ready’ and shown that madness, I would never have become ‘Kuku’. Never say ‘no’. No role is small; only actors are small. This is a lifelong lesson.”
