Mumbai, 29 December. In today’s digital age, social media and messaging apps have made our lives much easier. People use these platforms to connect with friends, family, and celebrities. However, the risk of cyber fraud remains ever-present in this online world. Bollywood actress Kriti Kharbanda has advised her fans to stay alert against such dangers.

Through an Instagram story, Kriti revealed that fake WhatsApp accounts are being created in her name to mislead people.

Sharing a screenshot of a chat, the actress warned her fans that unknown individuals are contacting people pretending to be her.

Kriti wrote, “This is not my number. Contacting people in someone else’s name is identity theft. Do not trust any suspicious WhatsApp number. Please stay alert and be cautious.

This warning from the actress comes at a time when online scams and fake identities using celebrities’ names are on the rise. Such fake accounts often aim to deceive people, extract personal information, or commit financial fraud.

Fans responded immediately to Kriti’s post. Many expressed concern over the increasing misuse of social media and messaging platforms, while others demanded strict action against online fraud.

Earlier, actress Aditi Rao Hydari had also shared a similar incident on her Instagram account. She informed that someone was impersonating her on WhatsApp using her name and photos.

In her note, Aditi said, “Some people informed me that someone is using my name and pictures on WhatsApp and sending messages to photographers about ‘photoshoots’. I want to clarify that this is not me. I do not contact anyone like this and do not use a personal number for work. Everything is always handled through my team.”

She appealed to fans and associates not to respond to any suspicious messages and to immediately inform her team about such incidents. Aditi also thanked her followers for their support.
