Bengaluru, March 29: Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) kicked off IPL 2026 with a spectacular victory. In a match held at M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday, RCB defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) by six wickets. Virat Kohli was the star of the match, scoring an impressive 69 runs. After the game, he showcased a romantic side by blowing a ‘flying kiss’ to his wife, Anushka Sharma.

Kohli faced 38 balls, remaining unbeaten with a strike rate of 181, hitting five fours and five sixes. Following the win, he was seen greeting and hugging players from the opposing team. He then turned to the stands where Anushka was seated and sent her a ‘flying kiss.’ Anushka reciprocated with a smile, sending a kiss back to him. During his innings, Kohli also achieved a significant milestone, becoming the first player to score 4,000 runs while chasing in IPL history.

Kohli displayed excellent form against Sunrisers Hyderabad. After the early dismissal of Phil Salt for just 8 runs, he partnered with Devdutt Padikkal to stabilize the innings. The duo formed a century partnership for the second wicket. Padikkal also made a notable contribution, scoring 61 runs off just 26 balls with a strike rate of 234, including seven fours and four sixes.

RCB’s captain, Rajat Patidar, made a quick impact, scoring 31 runs off just 12 balls, hitting two fours and three sixes, while Tim David added an unbeaten 16 runs in 10 balls. Earlier, Sunrisers Hyderabad managed to post 201 runs, losing nine wickets in their 20 overs. Captain Ishan Kishan was the top scorer for SRH, making 80 runs off 38 balls. IPL debutant Jacob Duffy took three wickets for 22 runs, while Romario Shepherd also claimed three wickets.
