KKR Eager to Open Winning Account Against LSG in IPL 2026

Kolkata, April 8: Three-time champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will face Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their fourth match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 on Thursday. The match will take place at Eden Gardens.

KKR has had a challenging start to IPL 2026. They have yet to secure a win this season. The team lost their opening match to Mumbai Indians (MI) by six wickets and faced a 65-run defeat against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Their match against Punjab Kings (PBKS) ended in a rain-affected draw, resulting in both teams sharing a point. Currently, KKR sits at the eighth position in the points table with just one point from three matches.

Playing on their home ground, KKR fans are eager to see their star players return to form and make a significant impact in this crucial match.

In contrast, LSG has won one out of their two matches, placing them sixth in the standings. They lost their first match against Delhi Capitals (DC) by six wickets but bounced back with a five-wicket victory over Sunrisers Hyderabad (HRH).

Historically, LSG has the upper hand in head-to-head encounters against KKR. The two teams have faced each other six times in the IPL, with LSG winning four of those matches. Their first encounter took place in 2022, where LSG claimed victory by 75 runs.
