Mumbai, April 27: BJP leader Kirit Somaiya stated on Monday that certain individuals are exploiting Muslim youth to ensnare girls, particularly Hindu girls, which he described as a significant conspiracy. He suggested that incidents occurring in various locations should be thoroughly investigated by Maharashtra’s Cyber Cell to uncover the truth and ensure necessary actions are taken.
Somaiya emphasized that those who harass girls in the name of ‘jihad’ should face a minimum of seven years in prison.
In a discussion in Mumbai, he noted that complaints regarding ‘corporate jihad’ are surfacing one after another in Maharashtra. He referred to a case in the Mahalaxmi area involving Piramal Finance, where a Hindu girl was harassed by a man named Ashraf. Reports indicate that he has previously misbehaved with over a dozen girls. Extensive discussions with the police have taken place, and they are working with the Cyber Cell to identify all individuals involved. Somaiya expressed doubt that Ashraf could act alone.
He mentioned another FIR has been filed, and around a dozen names have come to the police’s attention. The investigation is gradually gaining momentum. Although some political pressure is being exerted at the local police station, the inquiry is now progressing swiftly.
Somaiya described this as a well-planned conspiracy, claiming that money is being spent in the name of ‘jihad’ and that technology, including Photoshop, is being utilized. He believes that when these incidents are investigated collectively, more facts will emerge.
The BJP leader stated that the head of the Cyber Cell has been briefed, and cases are slowly coming to light. Young girls and their families are gathering the courage to come forward and share their experiences of similar incidents. As more cases emerge, he believes they will be able to bring justice to those with monstrous tendencies.
In response to comments made by senior Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar, Somaiya criticized the Congress mentality, stating that both Rahul Gandhi and Wadettiwar should apologize for their remarks regarding Prime Minister Modi.
