Thiruvananthapuram, March 20 : Chilling and Thrilling films celebrating the stories of survival and resilience will embellish the screens of the International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK) on its fourth day. The Kurdish road movie, ‘Kilometre Zero’, a tell-tale depicting the journey of a Kurdish soldier and an Iraqi taxi driver will be screened at the Kalabhavan Theatre at 8.45 pm tomorrow. The film, set amidst the outbreaks of violence and hatred is also a story of separation, love and hope. Navid Mahmoud’s Afghan-Iran refugee love story, ‘Drowning in Holy Water’ portrays the story of a young refugee couple, trapped in a strange dilemma after they flee the conflict zones of their homeland. The flabbergasted movie ‘Stranger’s House’, and the second show of ‘Money has four legs’ will also join the fest. The terrifying shots captured in Htoo Paing Zaw Oo’s ‘Stranger’s House’ run through a series of thrilling moments when two friends decide to meet an online friend and reside in a strange house. ‘Drowning in Holy Water’ will be screend in ARIESPLEX-5 at 12.15 pm and ‘Stranger’s House’ in ARIESPLEX-6, at 3.15 pm under Framing the Conflict category. The second show of ‘Money has four legs’ will also be screened in the New-1 theatre at 5.45 pm. The film brings forth the challenges of a young Burmese director confronting many impediments for filming his debut. DS SHK1816
