Chandigarh, March 8 : Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar, who also holds Finance portfolio, presented a Rs 1,77,255.99 crore budget for the year 2022-23 in the Vidhan Sabha, here on Tuesday. Vidhan Sabha Speaker Gian Chand Gupta announced the constitution of eight Committees on various topics to get the State Budget passed through these Committees on the similar lines of Lok Sabha. Meanwhile, after the Chief Minister’s around two and half hour long budget speech, the Speaker announced the formation of these Committees in the House. Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker Ranbir Singh Gangwa will be the Chairman of the First Committee, while Aseem Goel will chair the second Committee, Geeta Bhukkal will chair the third Committee, Ishwar Singh will chair the fourth Committee, Seema Trikha will head the fifth Committee, Kiran Choudhary will chair the sixth Committee, Parmod Kumar Vij will chair the seventh Committee and Ghanshyam Dass Arora will chair the eighth Committee. The announcement of other members of the committee will be issued by the Vidhan Sabha Secretariat today itself and as per the timetable released for the Budget session, no meeting of House will be convened for three days that is from March 9 to 11, while these are three official working days of the Vidhan Sabha and after discussing various topics of the Budget, these Committees will present their report in the House on March 14. These Committees will also function on Saturdays which is an official holiday. The Speaker has announced to include Saturday as a working day in the official proceedings of the Assembly. DB GK
