‘KGF Chapter 2’ proves a rage at box office

Bengaluru, April 17 : Prashanth’s Neel’s “KGF Chapter 2” is doing even greater than expected at the box office. The most expensive Kannada film ever made and one of this year’s most-anticipated releases, the film has already managed to justify its enormous budget. Witnessing an unprecedented earning at the box office, ‘KGF Chapter 2’ has already managed to collect Rs.143 crore in just three days. Overseas, the trend is just as spectacular. As per trade analyst Manobala Vijayabalan, the film has earned ₹400 crore at the worldwide box office in just three days. “#KGFChapter2 CROSSES ₹ 400 cr mark in just 3 days. All set to STORM past ₹500 cr today,” he wrote. Giving a break up of the Hindi version, he wrote, “All India Hindi Box Office. Day 1 – ₹ 53.95 cr Day 2 – ₹ 46.79 cr Day 3 – ₹ 42.90 cr Total – ₹ 143.64 cr. FIRST ever movie in Hindi to achieve this number in first 3 days. #Yash creates HISTORY.” Screening on over 10,000 screens, KGF is all the rage right now with no signs of slowing down, earning over Rs 40 crore in the Hindi belt and $1 million in the US and is looking to cross the $4 million mark. With all the wheels turning, the movie seems to be in a no-brakes mode and racing across with nitrous in the engine. KGF short for Kolar Gold Fields follows the life of assassin Rocky who after establishing his authority in the Kolar Gold Fields as the kingpin must protect his supremacy against enemies and government officials who seek to uproot him.
