Ayodhya, September 2: The Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust will hold an important meeting in Ayodhya on Wednesday. This meeting aims to finalize the appointment of the trust’s first Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and discuss other trustee-level positions, as the temple committee moves towards significant administrative and leadership changes.
The crucial meeting, set to take place at the Maniram Das Chhawani, will consist of two sessions. Key topics will include the restructuring of the trust’s management, construction, finance, and religious committees.
This meeting follows the recommendation of three names for the CEO position by a three-member search committee just a day prior. The committee includes retired Lieutenant General Vishnu Kant Chaturvedi, former scientist Suresh Haware, and former Justice Pramod Kohli. The committee submitted its report to the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust on Tuesday.
Speaking to reporters, the trust’s treasurer, Swami Govind Dev Giri Maharaj, expressed gratitude to the search committee members for their tireless efforts, stating that the board will consider their recommendations before the trust meeting.
When asked if the CEO’s name would be announced after the trust meeting, Swami Govind Dev Giri Maharaj mentioned that it would depend on the temple committee’s decision.
Meanwhile, Justice Kohli (retired) remarked that he and the other committee members feel grateful and fortunate to be part of this occasion. He emphasized the need for transparency and fairness in the process.
Describing the selection process, the former judge noted, “We received 5,585 applications between July 11 and 18. Reviewing each application was a significant task, so we held a meeting on July 19 and decided to create a Google form to score applicants based on their qualifications.”
He explained, “A Google form with 600 points was prepared and sent to all candidates, of which 3,570 responded. Each response was meticulously reviewed. Only those scoring over 60 percent were considered.”
The former judge added that 108 candidates were categorized based on their scores, with those achieving 470 or more points out of 600 being selected. Over four days, virtual interviews were conducted with these 108 individuals, and 17 were invited for in-person interviews in Ayodhya, with 16 participating.
He also mentioned that all interviewees were scored based on various criteria. “We have recommended three names that we found most suitable based on their thinking, understanding of issues, and dedication to Lord Ram,” he concluded.
