Keshav Prasad Maurya Honors Ashok Singhals Legacy Beyond Ram Temple Vision

Keshav Prasad Maurya emphasizes Ashok Singhals broader vision for Indias development at his centenary celebration.

New Delhi, September 27 (Daily Kiran) : In New Delhi, the centenary celebration of Ashok Singhal, former president of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad, attracted several leaders from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), including Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya. During the event, Maurya highlighted that Singhal’s vision extended far beyond the construction of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple, stressing that much work remains for the country’s development.

Maurya stated, “The discussions today carry profound significance. We all cherish the memories of the revered Ashok Singhal. His vision was not limited to building the Ram Janmabhoomi temple; there is still much to be done for the nation’s progress.”

BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad reflected on Singhal’s pivotal role in the Ram Janmabhoomi movement. He recalled how Singhal led the movement, enduring hardships without wavering in his beliefs. “He once told me, ‘Ravi, you must argue this case yourself.’ I had great affection for him, and he often stayed at my home in Patna. I assured him I would take on the responsibility, setting aside all my other cases to prepare for this one,” Prasad shared.

Alok Kumar, president of the VHP, made a bold statement regarding the Garba festival, asserting that non-Hindus would not be allowed to participate. He likened this stance to how Muslims regard Mecca, emphasizing the sacred nature of the event. “Garba is not mere entertainment; it is a dance performed in devotion to the goddess. Why should this be questioned?” Kumar said. He also expressed a commitment to remembering deities like Lord Ram and Goddess Kali during the festivities.

Kumar further noted Singhal’s significant contributions, stating, “He was a key figure in the RSS and dedicated his life to strengthening Hindu organizations and values. His efforts included promoting the Vedas, Sanskrit, and cow protection.”

He recalled how Singhal facilitated the laying of the Ram Janmabhoomi temple’s foundation with the help of a Scheduled Caste brother. “Through his struggles, he instilled courage and vigor in Hindu society. This year, we reaffirm our commitment to lead India towards Ram Rajya,” Kumar declared.

Sadhvi Ishika, who participated in the event, expressed her honor at being part of the celebration. “As the honorable President mentioned, Ashok Singhal was a confluence of knowledge, tradition, struggle, and service. We, the youth, have much to learn from him about how he safeguarded the Ram Setu and reclaimed the Ram Janmabhoomi,” she remarked.
