Thiruvananthapuram, February 22: The final voter list for Kerala has been published following the completion of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process. The list reveals a total of 2,69,53,644 registered voters.
During the first phase of the SIR process, 2.78 crore forms were distributed across the state. After thorough inspections, hearings, and corrections in all 140 assembly constituencies, the voter lists were finalized.
According to the office of the Chief Electoral Officer, 9,06,211 names were removed from the voter list during the revision process. This included 53,229 names that were deleted following legal hearings. The removals were due to reasons such as the death of individuals during the census period, acquisition of foreign citizenship, changes in residential status, and instances of name duplication.
Additionally, 4,24,518 new voters were added to the final list. Between October 27, 2025, and January 30, 2026, the Election Commission accepted 13,51,151 new applications (Form 6) for inclusion. Furthermore, 1,59,111 applications (Form 6A) from individuals wishing to register as overseas voters were also approved.
During the amendment period, actions were taken on 24,28,639 applications for inclusion or removal, while 3,93,333 applications were accepted for corrections to existing entries. The commission issued 36,88,948 notices for hearings following the publication of the draft list.
The final figures indicate that the voter list includes 1,38,27,319 women and 1,31,26,048 men. There are 277 transgender voters, along with 2,23,558 non-resident (foreign) voters. The Election Commission has clarified that there is still an opportunity for registration.
Names can be added until the final date for filing nominations for the upcoming assembly elections. Voters can verify their details through the Election Commission’s online portal using their voter ID number, name, relative’s name, date of birth, or mobile number.
The final voter list under SIR 2026 is also available on the official website of the Chief Electoral Officer. With the final list now prepared, preparations for the assembly elections are expected to accelerate, with results anticipated soon.
