Kerala Chief Minister Decision Expected Soon, Says K. Muraleedharan

Thiruvananthapuram, May 9: The suspense surrounding the next Chief Minister of Kerala continues following the United Democratic Front (UDF) victory in the state assembly elections. Senior Congress leader and newly elected MLA K. Muraleedharan has revealed that the final decision on the Chief Minister’s name will be made by the party’s high command. This decision is anticipated to be announced soon, possibly tonight or by tomorrow.

Currently, supporters of various leaders within the party are displaying posters and flexes to advocate for their preferred candidates for the Chief Minister position. In a conversation, Muraleedharan stated that the Congress high command does not base its decisions on such displays. He emphasized that the party leadership will consider the sentiments of the legislators and coalition partners before making a final decision.

Three prominent names are currently in the running for the Chief Minister position: V.D. Satheesan, R.amesh Chennithala, and K.C. Venugopal. All three leaders are actively engaged in discussions with the party high command in Delhi. Consequently, supporters are closely monitoring the political developments in the capital.

Posters and flexes supporting these leaders have been put up across the state, indicating significant enthusiasm among party workers for their preferred candidates. Muraleedharan noted that these activities will not influence the internal decision-making of the party.

He acknowledged that there is some tension within the party at this time, but he clarified that this is not unusual. Such dynamics often arise after elections. He assured that once the high command makes its decision, unity will be restored within the party.

Muraleedharan pointed out that it has not been long since the election results were announced. Only a few days have passed since May 4, when the results were declared. He expressed hope that clarity will emerge within the next two to three days, leading to a final decision from the party leadership.
