New Delhi, March 10 : AAP leader and Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia on Thursday hailed the party’s Punjab victory as people’s acceptance of the ‘Kejriwal model’, which has been a success here as AAP has been in power in the national capital since 2015. Echoing party spokesperson Raghav Chadha’s feelings that AAP is now a “natural and national alternative to Congress”, Sisodia said the party has grown at a national-level and its model of Delhi Government is something that people across India wants. Reacting to early trends which gave a solid lead to AAP in Punjab showing that it is headed to over two-third majority, Sisodia said Punjab people have given a chance to the Kejriwal model. Calling the party’s Punjab success as “common man’s win”, he said: “Now, Aam Aadmi Party’s (AAP) model of governance has established itself at a national-level.” Sisodia said the win in Punjab has been possible as their’s is the only party that is focused on basic amenities, such as education, healthcare, jobs, other services that people want and need. According to the early trends, AAP was leading on 91 of the 117-seat assembly, while the ruling Congress was a distant second with 17 seats. Akali Dal was ahead in six seats and BJP two seats. Former Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh’s party Punjab Lok Congress was not leading in any seat. XC GK ING
