Karnataka Government Ensures Safe Return of Kannadigas from the Middle East

Bangalore, March 4: Karnataka’s Home Minister G. Parameshwara has made a significant statement regarding the safety of Kannadigas residing in Middle Eastern countries. He emphasized that a large number of the Kannada community lives in these regions, and the state government is closely monitoring the situation.

Minister Parameshwara noted that many individuals stranded abroad have already returned safely to India. For those who have not yet returned, both the Chief Minister and the Chief Secretary have written to the central government, assuring that the state government is making every effort to bring everyone back safely.

When questioned about recent protests on the streets of Bangalore, he stated that it is incorrect to claim that cases were filed without reason. He clarified that legal action was taken only against those who protested without permission or violated regulations. He affirmed that while the right to protest is essential in a democratic setup, adherence to the law is also crucial.

Addressing allegations of corruption in government recruitment processes, Minister Parameshwara assured that any complaints would be investigated. He promised that a fair process would be upheld, and action would be taken against those found guilty.

Regarding the IPL matches, he mentioned that the organizers have complied with more than 50% of the recommendations from the Kunha Committee, which led to the approval of the matches. He stated that the government has no objections as long as all guidelines are followed correctly.

Additionally, he congratulated D.K. Shivakumar, President of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee, on the completion of six years, emphasizing the importance of cooperation and unity within the party. He dismissed rumors of differences between the Chief Minister and Deputy Chief Minister, stating that the government is fully united and committed to providing better governance to the public.
