Mumbai, October 17 (Daily Kiran): Rishab Shetty’s ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ continues to make waves at the box office, even as its collections saw a slight dip on the 15th day of release. The film, which has been performing exceptionally well both in India and overseas, has now surpassed the lifetime earnings of ‘Saiyara’, becoming the second highest-grossing Indian film of 2025.

According to box office tracker Sanilak, ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ earned Rs 10.5 crore on its 14th day, but on the 15th day, the film’s pace slowed slightly, collecting around Rs 9 crore. With this, the film’s total domestic collection stands at Rs 485.40 crore. This marks the first time its single-day earnings have dipped into single digits, yet the overall numbers remain impressive.
The film has now comfortably overtaken ‘Saiyara’ (Rs 329 crore) and trails only behind Vicky Kaushal’s blockbuster ‘Chhava’, which continues to top 2025’s box office charts with Rs 601.54 crore. To claim the number one spot, ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ needs to earn another Rs 116.14 crore — a target that industry analysts believe is still achievable if the film gains momentum during its third weekend.
Despite being primarily a Kannada-language film, ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ has seen strong performance across the Hindi belt, reflecting its wide appeal among audiences. Its storytelling, visuals, and cultural depth have resonated with viewers nationwide, adding to its long theatrical run.
The coming week will be crucial for the film’s box office journey. On October 21, it will face new competition from Ayushmann Khurrana’s ‘Thama’ and Harshvardhan Rane’s ‘Ek Deewane Ki Deewaniyat’. Until then, ‘Kantara Chapter 1’ continues to enjoy an open field and remains well-positioned to strengthen its overall box office tally.
