Kullu, September 7 (Daily Kiran) : BJP MP Kangana Ranaut voiced her dissatisfaction with the sluggish pace of development during a review meeting in Kullu. Speaking on September 7, she admonished local officials, stating that complacency would not be tolerated. Ranaut emphasized the need for them to actively take charge and accelerate progress.
She remarked, “It is a tragic situation, and we cannot afford to sit idly. If the government has not reached you, you must approach it without hesitation. Speak up for what your state needs, whether it’s promoting ‘One District, One Product,’ organizing exhibitions and fashion shows, or empowering more women to become ‘lakhpati didis.’”
Ranaut urged department heads to take initiative rather than waiting for guidance from others. After the meeting, she told reporters that while efforts are ongoing, some departments are lagging significantly. “They seem to have almost given up, yet we should have a clear mission aligned with the Prime Minister’s vision for a developed India by 2047 to contribute to our revenue and economy,” she added.
The MP highlighted that Himachal Pradesh contributes minimally to the central government’s revenue and criticized the Congress-led state government for burdening the region with excessive debt. Despite these challenges, she noted that the Prime Minister has provided various tools and schemes, such as scholarships, financial assistance, and the ‘One District, One Product’ initiative, to help propel the state forward.
