Bagdogra, May 15: Union Minister of Communications and Development of the Northeast Region, Jyotiraditya Scindia, emphasized on Thursday that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government in West Bengal will ensure that the path to ‘Developed India 2047’ passes through this state.
Scindia is on a three-day official visit to Sikkim from May 14 to 16. Speaking to reporters at the airport, he stated, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the guidance of Home Minister Amit Shah, and the contributions of new Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari, a historic change has taken place in West Bengal.”
He expressed gratitude to the voters of West Bengal for placing their trust in the BJP. “I believe that the path to ‘Developed India 2047’ will also pass through West Bengal. This change in Bengal is aimed at development, which will be led by the Chief Minister,” he added.
When asked about his visit to Sikkim, Scindia assured that under Prime Minister Modi’s leadership, the development of Northeast states is guaranteed. He further mentioned, “Whether in the energy sector or in terms of per capita income, Sikkim is quite advanced.”
During his visit, several development projects will be inaugurated and laid down. Referring to Prime Minister Modi’s visit on Sikkim’s state formation day, Scindia noted that the Prime Minister initiated projects worth ₹4,000 crores. He also mentioned that Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan is scheduled to visit Sikkim on May 16.
Officials stated that during his visit, Scindia will participate in the state formation day celebrations and review various ongoing development initiatives and infrastructure projects in the Himalayan state.
In light of the current global situation, Scindia has decided to limit the number of vehicles and officials accompanying him to the minimum necessary level, in line with Prime Minister Modi’s efforts to save fuel, reduce unnecessary expenditures, and promote efficient and responsible public spending.
Scindia, who oversees the Ministry of Communications and Development of the Northeast Region, will join Vice President Radhakrishnan during the state formation day celebrations in Gangtok.
