J&K Lieutenant Governor, Girish Chandra Murmu, has said that good governance and efficient administration are vital for hassle-free and smooth public service delivery mechanism. He said that a well-defined citizen’s charter and viable grievance redressal mechanism are the cornerstones of a welfare administration.
Lt Governor made these remarks in a meeting he chaired to review the overall developmental scenario of the Baramulla district yesterday.
On the occasion, Murmu announced additional Rs 5 crore for village level works identified under ‘Back to Village’ programme. He also announced Rs 50 lakh for the upgradation of auditorium in Sheerwani Hall besides announcing a new building in SSP Office Sopore.
He also announced that a Physical Education Training College shall be established in Baramulla so that youth get a proper platform to channelize their potential.
Lieutenant Governor also took a detailed stock of winter preparedness by the district administration.
The government on Saturday released the maps of the newly created union territories of Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh and the map of India depicting these union territories. The new map shows 28 states and nine union territories after the bifurcation of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Home Ministry, the new union territor of Ladakh consists of the two districts of Kargil and Leh and the rest of the districts of erstwhile state of Jammu and Kashmir are in the newly created union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
