Udhampur, May 3: Dr. Jitendra Singh, the Union Minister of State for Science and Technology, listened to the concerns of villagers during a public outreach program held in Udhampur district, Jammu and Kashmir. He directed officials to address these issues promptly.
The Union Minister shared updates on the social media platform ‘X’, stating that the public meeting took place in the village of Barmeen, located in the Chenani assembly constituency. He personally interacted with local residents and delegations to resolve their concerns. Senior officials from various government departments and local representatives were also present, and several issues were addressed on the spot.
Dr. Singh remarked, “This initiative is part of a series of public outreach programs regularly organized by my team in the Udhampur-Kathua-Doda parliamentary constituency. These meetings are held not only at the district level but also at block and panchayat levels. Issues and concerns raised by villagers were presented to the relevant authorities, and directives were issued for their swift resolution. We reaffirmed our commitment to continue these public outreach programs to ensure that the voices of people in the most remote areas of the constituency are heard and acted upon promptly.”
The Union Minister also mentioned that the district administration has been tasked with identifying a suitable site for establishing a Central School in Ghordi, followed by the submission of a formal proposal. To enhance facilities for tourists and pilgrims, a passenger transit shed will be constructed near the Narasimha temple complex through the MPLAD (Members of Parliament Local Area Development) fund.
Dr. Singh expressed on X, “I had the privilege of attending the Mahasatsang program held at the ancient Shri Narasimha temple in Barmeen (Chenani). I prayed for the welfare of the public and received blessings from the community.”
