Jeff Allott Appointed as New CEO of New Zealand Cricket

Auckland, April 28: New Zealand Cricket has appointed former international fast bowler Jeff Allott as its new CEO, effective July 1.

In a statement released by New Zealand Cricket, Allott expressed his deep connection to the organization and the sport, saying, “Having represented New Zealand Cricket as a player, served as General Manager, and contributed as a board director for over eight years, I am eager to work with the board, players, staff, member associations, and our commercial partners to build strong relationships, promote a positive and creative culture, and achieve excellent results both on and off the field.”

Diana Puketapu-Linden, the head of New Zealand Cricket, praised Allott’s unique blend of skills and experience. She highlighted, “Allott brings a rare and highly relevant combination of deep cricket expertise as a former representative of New Zealand, invaluable experience as a former General Manager and board member, and strong business leadership skills, which are hard to find elsewhere.”

Linden added, “We are confident that his sporting experience, institutional knowledge, business acumen, and international perspective make him the ideal person to lead New Zealand Cricket into its next phase of growth and expansion.”

With nearly 20 years of experience in cricket administration, Allott also has extensive business experience and strong connections in India and the broader South Asian region.

Allott’s involvement in cricket administration runs deep. He was one of the founding members of the New Zealand Cricket Players Association in 2002, later working with the Canterbury Cricket Board from 2011 to 2013, and joining the New Zealand Cricket Board in 2013. During his eight-year tenure as a director, he made significant contributions and stepped down in 2021 as part of board changes. In recognition of his contributions to cricket, he was awarded life membership of New Zealand Cricket in 2022.

Allott is the sixth CEO of New Zealand Cricket, succeeding Scott Waddell, who left the position in December. Previous CEOs include Chris Doig, Martin Snedden, Justin Vaughan, and David White. Notably, Allott has prior executive experience with New Zealand Cricket, having served as General Manager from 2008 to 2010.
