Discussions are ongoing regarding Chief Minister Nitish Kumar’s potential transition to the Rajya Sabha and the possibility of a BJP-led government. However, a faction of Janata Dal (United) (JD(U)) workers is making a distinct demand.
These JD(U) supporters are openly calling for Nitish Kumar to hand over the chief ministerial position to his son, Nishant Kumar. This demand has been repeatedly voiced through posters, slogans, and public demonstrations.
On Monday, party workers rallied once again in support of this call. The event coincided with Nitish Kumar’s attendance at the inauguration of a newly constructed guest house for Legislative Council members in Patna.
Initially, the venue echoed with chants of “Long Live Nitish Kumar,” but it quickly shifted to “Long Live Bihar’s Chief Minister Nishant Kumar.” Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary and Vijay Kumar Sinha were also present on stage.
The Chief Minister greeted the crowd with a smile and proceeded with the program. Meanwhile, political circles are buzzing with speculation that Nitish Kumar may take an oath as a Rajya Sabha member on April 10, following his resignation from the Legislative Council.
