Chennaiyin FC started strong, with Imran Khan and Irfan Yadav launching attacks in the early minutes, but they failed to convert their chances. Gradually, Jamshedpur FC took control of the game. The first goal came from Mohammad Sanan, giving Jamshedpur a 1-0 lead. Shortly after, Messi Bouli scored with a header, extending the lead to 2-0. Chennaiyin attempted to bounce back but struggled to capitalize on their opportunities.

In the second half, Chennaiyin FC continued to push forward. Daniel Chima and Irfan Yadav created several chances but could not find the back of the net. Meanwhile, Jamshedpur FC capitalized on their chances, with Sanan scoring again to make it 3-0. Prakasheshwaran then sparked hope for Chennaiyin FC with a stunning goal.
