
Jammu, 1 January: Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday announced the attachment of an immovable property belonging to terrorist handler and launch commander Rafiq Nai, also known as Sultan, based in Pakistan, under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA).
According to a police statement, this action is part of decisive measures against terrorist networks operating across the border.
The attachment relates to a First Information Report (FIR) registered at the Gursai Police Station in Poonch district. The seized property includes four marlas and two sarsai of agricultural land located in Nar village of Nakka Majhari area in Mendhar tehsil of Poonch district.
The police identified the attached property as belonging to Rafiq Nai, alias Sultan, son of Mohammad Afsar and a local resident. He is currently functioning as a handler and launch commander for the banned terrorist organisation Tehreek-ul-Mujahideen/Jammu Kashmir Ghaznavi Force, operating from Pakistan.
Police stated that Rafiq Nai is actively involved in monitoring drug and arms smuggling, facilitating infiltration of trained terrorists, and attempting to revive terrorist activities in the Poonch-Rajouri sector.
He has been declared a proclaimed offender and is wanted in multiple serious criminal cases, including several FIRs.
The attachment was conducted by a joint team of Mendhar Police Station and the Revenue Department after following all legal procedures, including verification, documentation, and approval from the competent authority.
The police estimated the market value of the attached property at approximately Rs 10 lakh.
Police added, “This action is a significant and ongoing strategy aimed at dismantling the financial, logistical, and support infrastructure of terrorist networks, ensuring that individuals involved in anti-national and terrorist activities are deprived of their resources.”
The District Police, Poonch, reiterated their commitment to strict and legal action against all elements involved in terrorism and activities detrimental to national security and sovereignty. They assured that such measures will continue in the interest of peace, public safety, and national security.
