New Delhi, May 16: Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar congratulated Anita Orbán on her appointment as Hungary’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister on Friday.
Jaishankar expressed his enthusiasm for collaborating to strengthen India-Hungary relations and the strategic partnership between India and the European Union on the social media platform X.
Anita Orbán took her oath of office on May 13. She stated on X, “My goal is clear: to represent the interests of the Hungarian people with strength, respect, and clarity on every international platform. I am excited to work with partner countries to amplify Hungary’s voice globally, including in Europe.”
Born in July 1974, Anita Orbán is a Hungarian lawyer, diplomat, and politician.
Peter Magyar was sworn in as Hungary’s Prime Minister on May 9, promising to implement systemic changes following his parliamentary election victory. His party, Tisza, defeated the ruling Fidesz-KDNP coalition led by Viktor Orbán in the parliamentary elections held on April 12, securing 141 out of 199 seats for a two-thirds majority.
