Jaipur, 15 September (Patrika English News): The 15th edition of the Chinkara Polo Cup 2025 concluded at the 61 Cavalry Polo Ground, Jaipur Military Station, on Sunday, with the Jaipur Polo Team emerging as champions after a thrilling final.
The week-long tournament, organised under the aegis of Sapta Shakti Command, began on 9 September with seven of the country’s finest teams, including V Polo, Gohilwad Polo, Kognivera Stallions, Jaipur Polo Team and Army teams, showcasing their skill and sportsmanship.
The grand finale saw Jaipur Polo Team edge past Kognivera Stallions with a close 8-7 victory, keeping spectators engaged until the final whistle. Lance Watson of Jaipur Polo Team was the highest scorer of the match.
Major General Rohit Mehrotra, GOC 61 Sub Area, presented the prestigious trophy to the winning team.
Instituted in 2011 by the then GOC 61 Sub Area, the Chinkara Polo Cup has grown into a premier polo event, celebrating the artistry of horsemanship, the elegance of the sport, and the spirit of excellence. The tournament is aligned with the Indian armed forces’ efforts towards skill development and sporting excellence.
