Mumbai, May 22: Renowned Hindi cinema actor Jackie Shroff has captured the hearts of audiences for decades with his powerful performances and unique style. Known for his films in the 80s and 90s, Shroff continues to enjoy immense popularity among the youth today. In a recent interview, he shared insights into the reasons behind this enduring connection.
Currently busy promoting his upcoming film “The Great Grand Superhero,” Shroff was asked why younger generations feel such a strong bond with him. He responded, “I keep myself open to every person. I never judge anyone based on their age. Whether someone is 80 years old or an 8-year-old child, they are all equal to me. I interact with everyone with the same warmth and respect.”
He elaborated, “I listen carefully to what people say and share my life experiences as well. Relationships strengthen when one keeps an open mind. It’s not age that matters, but humanity and thought. That’s why I easily connect with people of all generations.”
Shroff emphasized, “Every individual has something to teach. Therefore, I never consider myself superior or wiser than anyone else. My advice to people is to embrace others with an open heart and respect everyone.”
During the conversation, Shroff also discussed his role in “The Great Grand Superhero.” He mentioned, “The character I play is very close to my heart. In the film, I portray a grandfather who shares a friendship-like bond with his grandson. In real life, I also interact with children as a friend and do not feel any generational gap.”
He added, “There were many reasons for taking on this film, but the most significant was its unique and fresh story. The concept of a superhero grandfather has not been seen in Hindi cinema before. This new perspective drew me to the film.”
Shroff highlighted the relationship between the grandfather and grandson as the film’s greatest strength. He noted that while people often talk about generational divides, this film illustrates that love, friendship, and affection can break down barriers of age.
“The Great Grand Superhero” is set to hit theaters on May 29.
