IUML Kerala unit Prez Panakkad Sayd Hyderali Shihab Thangal laid to rest with state honours

Malappuram, Mar ch 7 : Indian on Muslim League (IUML) Kerala t President Panakkad Sayd Hyderali Shihab Thangal was laid to rest on the burial grounds of the Panakkad Juma Masjid with State honours in the early hours on Monday. The body was kept at Malappuram town hall from 1845 hrs to midnight on Sunday to make people pay the last respects to the public and the party workers and later taken to Panakkad Kodapanakkal ancestral house for last rites. Thousands of people from all walks of life thronged the town hall and waited to pay homage to the departed leader. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Opposition leader V D Satheeshan, Ministers P A Muhammed Riyaz, V Abdurahiman, A K Saseedharan, Kanthapuram Aboobacker Musliyar land IUML National and State leaders paid homage to late IUML leader. Senior Congress leaders Oomman Chandy, Ramesh Chennithala, M M Hassan, MP Jose K Mani also reached Panakkad house in the early hours and also visited the Panakkd Juma Masjid to pay homage to the departed leader. AICC leader Rahul Gandhi had earlier announced to reach Malappuram around 0800 hrs and later KPCC sources said he would only arrive around 1900 hrs on Monday. AK SS SY 1150
